“Defending on the government’s distribution of projects, the figures demonstrate that rural development remains a major component of the administration’s investment programme.
“This show that the government’s development agenda extends beyond the metropolitan area to include rural roads, healthcare facilities, schools, housing, feeder roads and other essential infrastructure,” he added.

On financial oversight, the commissioner said “the payment figure reflects payment certificates that have been duly vetted by the Ministry,” noting that the portfolio includes ongoing, recently awarded and planned projects.
He further assured that the government would continue to monitor project implementation, address bottlenecks and ensure that public resources are deployed responsibly.
“The Government remains committed to ensuring that these investments translate into measurable improvements in the lives of the teeming citizens and residents alike.
“ Let me use this opportunity to reaffirm our ministry’s commitment to transparency and accountability.
“At this ministry, we will continue to ensure that projects are monitored from procurement through implementation to completion and that payment certification is linked to verified project execution.
“ Data showed that Kano State is undertaking a large-scale development programme, with significant progress already recorded, substantial projects still under implementation, and a continuing requirement for rigorous monitoring, financial discipline and timely project completion,” he said.
