NDLEA seizes N39bn cocaine, arrests Lagos socialite KC Luxury
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested a Lagos socialite, Afolabi Kazeem Micheal, popularly known as KC Luxury after its operatives have seized 184.5 kilogrammes of cocaine from a courier company.
An an employee of the logistics company, Lawal Kehinde was also arrested when the anti-narcotic agency seized cocaine consignment worth $27.7 million, approximately N39 billion from the courier company.
According to the NDLEA Chairman, Buba Marwa, it is the largest cocaine seizure from a courier firm in the history of the agency.
Speaking during a press briefing in Lagos on Tuesday, Marwa said the two suspects were arrested over the cocaine consignment.
Marwa said after the seizure, the agency worked with the management of the logistics company which led to the arrest of Micheal and Kehinde.
The NDLEA chairman said Nigeria is being used as a transit hub for illicit drugs to the United Kingdom, and some parts of Europe and Asia.
Marwa added that KC Luxury was arrested at the Lagos airport as he made to flee the country.
