The Yoruba Community in China has congratulated Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, Executive Governor of Osun State, on his resounding victory in the 15 August 2026 Osun State Governorship Election.

This was according to statement signed and issued by Yourba Community in China .

Governor Adeleke, the candidate of the Accord Party, secured 511,067 votes and won 19 of the State’s 30 Local Government Areas, defeating his closest challenger, the APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji, who polled 444,815 votes.

“For us as Yoruba sons and daughters living in China, this victory represents more than a political triumph. It is a powerful affirmation of the confidence that the people of Osun have placed in a leadership style anchored on people-oriented governance, infrastructure renewal, social welfare, economic empowerment and inclusive development.

“Since assuming office in 2022, Governor Adeleke’s administration has pursued significant interventions across critical sectors.

“His administration has undertaken extensive road construction and rehabilitation, improved access to water through borehole projects across the wards, strengthened healthcare delivery, invested in education and revitalised abandoned infrastructure.

“In education, the administration has recorded notable progress, including the development of infrastructure at Osun State University, where new facilities such as a sports complex, laboratory complex and large lecture theatres were commissioned in 2026.

“The administration has also supported the development of the University of Ilesa and secured important accreditation milestones for state-owned institutions

“The healthcare sector has equally received attention, with the reconstruction and upgrading of numerous primary healthcare centres and the expansion of access to healthcare services.

“Osun’s reported improvement in national examination performance and recognition in primary healthcare further demonstrates the administration’s emphasis on human capital development,” the group stated.

The Governor’s empowerment programmes have also touched thousands of women, youths, cooperative societies and small businesses.

Government records indicate that significant interest-free revolving funds and business-support initiatives have been deployed to stimulate grassroots economic activity and strengthen household livelihoods.

In infrastructure, the administration has embarked on hundreds of kilometres of road projects, major flyovers, urban renewal initiatives and the reconstruction of previously abandoned projects.

The State Government has also reported substantial efforts to improve Osun’s fiscal position while investing in infrastructure as a driver of economic growth.

The Yoruba Community in China therefore views Governor Adeleke’s re-election as an opportunity for continuity, consolidation and greater accomplishments.

“We believe the next phase should build upon the foundation already laid, with even stronger attention to employment creation, technology and digital innovation, agro-industrial development, tourism, education, healthcare, investment and the welfare of workers and vulnerable citizens.
