NIPC lauds rapid economic development in Oyo

The Nigerian Investment promotion commission has commended the efforts of Oyo state government in ensuring rapid economic development of the state, making it one of the top economic destination in the country.

This it said is coming at the booming period when the country is witnessing a rising profile of foreign direct investment ( FDI)inflow and owing the reforms programmes by the federal government including the recent rebasing of the nation economy under president Goodluck Jonathan transformation agenda.

A statement by the Assistant Director/Head Media and Publicity, Mr. Joel Attah, quoted the Executive secretary of the Commission, Mrs Saratu Umar, to have gave the commendation when she received in audience the Oyo state government lead by the Deputy Governor, Moses Alake Adeyemo yesterday in Abuja .

The ES noted that, with solid minerals deposit such as marble, gold and granite, the full potential of which are yet to be exploited,

active and constructive collaboration with both local and foreign investors would ensure full exploitation of these resources for the rapid socio-economic development of the state.

She called on the states to work in close collaboration with the commission in order to have sustained capacity building programmes designed to assist them in establishing and running Investment Promotion Agencies/One Stop Investment Center at the state level, and promised to partner with the Oyo state government to realize its full economic potentials through the promotion of the abundance investment opportunities domiciled in the state.

In his response, the Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Moses Alake Adeyemo described NIPC activities as very impressive in promoting the abundance investment opportunities of the country to the outside world, thereby ensuring the economic transformation and advancement of the country.

He stated that Oyo is a pacesetter state and the best investment destination in the country as it has many potentials that are yet to be exploited and has high returns on investment.

He therefore promised of the State’s readiness to partner with the Commission in order to promote its abundant solid minerals and other resources to the outside world.
