As political maneuvering for the 2027 general elections begins to take shape, the governorship candidate for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in Kaduna State, Barrister Mohammad Sani Abbas, has called on residents to break away from traditional political alignments and vote strictly based on candidate credibility and track record.

Addressing journalists in Kaduna, Abbas argued that the state historically viewed as the political hub of Northern Nigeria has suffered significant setbacks in infrastructure, public safety, and basic social amenities under the current administration.

Abbas highlighted the widespread security challenges impacting local communities, noting that persistent attacks, abductions, and property losses require a fresh governance approach focused on restoring law and order.

The NDC candidate pointed to neglected road networks and inadequate social services across both urban centers and rural communities as evidence of administrative failure.

Abbas asked citizens to evaluate whether their living conditions have genuinely improved, urging them to prioritize proven management capability over party sentiment in 2027.

Supporting the candidacy, the Director General of the NDC Gubernatorial Campaign, Alhaji Ibrahim Kaya, emphasized that voters are increasingly demanding concrete action plans rather than political promises.

Kaya cited Abbas’s 45-year background as a legal practitioner and banker as the key qualification needed to revitalise the state’s economy and public infrastructure.

Also, Alhaji Mohammed Ahmed Aliyu Idris, Kaduna State Coordinator for the Kwankwasiyya movement, announced the movement’s endorsement of the NDC ticket, calling on supporters across all wards to remain united ahead of the upcoming election cycle.
