As Muslim faithful across the country celebrated this year’s Eid-el-Maulud, marking the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has called on residents to uphold the virtues of peace, unity, and mutual tolerance.

Wike, in an official felicitation message issued by the Deputy Director of Press, Office of the Minister, Rabi Musa Umar, described the occasion as a sacred period designed for deep reflection on compassion, patience, sacrifice, and fellowship.

Highlighting the founding ideals of the nation’s capital, the Minister reminded residents that the FCT was established specifically to foster unity and diversity among all Nigerians, regardless of background.

“The FCT was built on the foundation of unity, diversity, and tolerance for all Nigerians.

“There is the need for us to embrace the true meaning and virtues of sacrifice, patience, tolerance, and fellowship in our daily interactions,” he stated.

He further advised residents to always adopt constructive dialogue as the principal tool for resolving differences within their communities.

Reassuring the public ahead of the celebrations, Wike emphasized that the FCT Administration (FCTA) remains steadfast in its mandate to safeguard lives and property. He assured residents and visitors that robust security measures are in place to guarantee safety during and after the festive period.

“May the lessons of Eid-el-Maulud bring peace to our homes, progress to our communities, and continued prosperity to the Federal Capital Territory and Nigeria,” Wike added.
