Kebbi: Commissioner Tasks Media Aides in Yauri on Aggressive Publicity

The Commissioner for Information and Culture, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed BK, has charged all Special Assistants on Social Media in Yauri Emirate to strengthen their efforts in publicising the achievements and programmes of Kebbi State Government under the leadership of Governor Nasir Idris.

The Commissioner gave the charge on Wednesday while addressing the Special Assistants at the Yauri Government Lodge.

He emphasised that promoting and showcasing the achievements of the present administration should remain a top priority and a major responsibility of all government media aides.

Alhaji Yakubu commended the Special Assistants for their contributions towards creating awareness about the programmes and achievements of the administration, but urged them to redouble their efforts.

“You people are trying, but we want you to do more,” he said.

The Commissioner noted that the administration has recorded significant achievements and fulfilled many of its campaign promises, stressing the need for the media aides to take their publicity efforts beyond social media posts and engage directly with project sites.

“I don’t need to tell you that the Governor has achieved a lot and fulfilled most of his campaign promises. We want you to visit project sites and showcase the achievements of the Governor, not only within Yauri Emirate but across all the 21 Local Government Areas of the state,” he stated.

He further urged the Special Assistants to ensure that the people of Kebbi State are adequately informed about government projects, policies and programmes through timely, accurate and impactful communication.

Earlier, the Special Adviser to the Governor on New Media, Alhaji Aliyu Bandado, appreciated the Special Assistants on Social Media under the Yauri Emirate for their commitment and contributions towards supporting the present administration through publicity and effective communication.

He urged them to remain dedicated to their responsibilities, stressing the importance of accurate information dissemination and effective communication in strengthening the relationship between the government and the people.

He also encouraged them to work collectively to ensure that the achievements and development initiatives of the administration reach a wider audience across the state.
