DPRK celebrates 78 anniversary of Nation’s founding in Abuja

The Embassy of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) in Nigeria has celebrated the 78 years of the nation’s founding in Abuja.

Speaking at the event Thursday in Abuja, DPRK’s Ambassador to Nigeria, Jo Yong Sam who took audience back memory lane on the immortal exploits of the Great Leader, Comrade Kim I Sung and the Great Leader Comrade Kim Jong I, said the duo laid foundation for development of friendly relations with Nigeria, by their sincere support and generous assistance to the anti-colonial national liberation struggle and the struggle for new society construction of Nigeria.

He said the two leaders took the belief that ‘The people are my god’ as their motto throughout their lives and founded the original Juche idea that the masses were the masters of everything and decide everything, creatively solved all problems arising in revolution and construction from an independent and self-reliant standpoint.

Jo noted they built DPRK into the world’s best socialist power where the people-first principle of independence, self-reliance, and self-defense was thoroughly implemented, and made a great contribution to the realization of the cause of global independence.

He stated that Comrade Kim Jong Un, Chairman of State Affairs was accelerating the general march with firm confidence and optimism in victory in the implementation of the new five-year plan proposed at the 9th Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea.

He noted that DPRK had through excellent and sophisticated leadership of Kim Jong Un, cultivated powerful strength and the strongest self defensive national defense capabilities to the fullest, and become a dignified and proud country that demonstrates its mettle as a nuclear power.

He informed that Kim Jong Un unparalleled courage and grit was wisely leading DPRK to continue to consolidate and develop bilateral friendly relations with the

determination to newly expand and develop friendly relations with Nigeria.

He reaffirmed the unwavering position of DPRK to expand and develop multi-faceted exchanges, cooperation, and interactions with Nigeria, to further strengthen mutual support and solidarity between the two countries on the international stage.

He therefor proposed a toast to the good health of Comrade Kim Jong Un and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of Nigeria, to the expansion of bilateral friendly relations between Korea and Nigeria.

The event was attended by prominent Nigerians including Deputy National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) South, Dr. Ben Nwoye who was represented by Special Adviser Diaspora Matters, Dr. Obinna Kingsman.

The Special Adviser to the APC National Chairman, Dr. Peace Longdet was represented by the National Coordinator of APC Business Forum, Rt. Hon. Uche McGregor Uwa.
