The City Boy Movement has set a target of mobilising 10 million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in the 2027 general election.

Director-General of the movement, Oluwatosin Francis Shoga, announced the target at a dinner and inauguration of state coordinators held in Kano on Monday.

Shoga said the target was driven by the movement’s growing membership across the country, noting that Kano State currently has one of its strongest support bases.

He urged members and coordinators to intensify grassroots mobilisation, stressing that preparations for the 2027 election must begin immediately.

“We have started working now. The work to achieve the 10 million votes for Asiwaju starts now, and we can do it. We can achieve it,” he said.

“We are counting on Kano. Kano is our heart, and we believe Kano can deliver for Asiwaju. Every coordinator and every member must work towards achieving this target.”

Shoga said the movement believes the Tinubu administration is implementing reforms aimed at addressing Nigeria’s challenges and urged members to work towards securing the President another term in office.

He also tasked the movement’s Kano coordinators, led by Nasir Ja’oji, with increasing membership to at least 50,000 before the end of September.

Speaking at the event, Ja’oji said the movement was focused on building a strong, united and disciplined grassroots structure capable of achieving its political objectives.

According to him, the organisation was established to contribute to the political development of communities and strengthen the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the grassroots.

“As leaders and members of this movement, we must understand that leadership is not merely about occupying positions. It is about responsibility, service, coordination and the ability to inspire others,” Ja’oji said.

He encouraged coordinators to identify challenges within their respective zones and local government areas and develop practical solutions to strengthen mobilisation.

“Our objective must be clear: to build a strong, united, disciplined and effective grassroots structure capable of delivering the objectives of the City Boy Movement and contributing meaningfully to the political development of our communities and our great party,” he added.

Represented by APC National Ex-Officio Muhammad Yusif Jamo, the governor also called on voters to support APC candidates across the various elective positions in the 2027 general election.

He pledged his administration’s support towards the electoral success of Tinubu and other APC candidates.
