Niger Tornadoes Football club of Minna on last Wednesday in Minna humbled Mighty Jet F of Jos by a lone goal after a match played at the Bako Kotangora stadium.
Both teams played a very entertaining game in the first half with various attempts that were however not converted into goals. The resilient Mighty Jet players had control of the game in the early minutes of the second half and missed a clear opportunity that would have been converted into a goal.
However, the Tornadoes players woke up to the challenge when Kayode Agboola was introduced 75 minutes into the game and the game took a different dimension with the Tornadoes attacks becoming sharper. After, serious pressure, the goal came in through a set piece when Stephen Ishiaku slotted in a corner kick at exactly 85 minutes of play.
The Tornadoes fans who could not hold their joy when the goal was scored heaved sigh of relief after the flamboyant Mighty Jet shot-stopper Kenneth Obilo could not stop the header from Ishaiku. The centre referee Katsina Daniel from Benue state blew the final whistle after four minutes added time.
