Italian giants, AC Milan are preparing to open new contract talks with Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze following his impressive start to the Serie A season.
Milan are considering extending Chukwueze’s contract beyond its current expiry date in June 2028.
The 27-year-old has started all three of Milan’s opening league matches this season and has registered two assists after being handed a new role as a right-sided wing-back by manager Ruben Amorim.
Chukwueze provided the assist for Adrien Rabiot’s goal against Torino before setting up Alphadjo Cisse in Milan’s subsequent match against Juventus. His performances have also included a strong defensive contribution despite playing in an unfamiliar position.
Italian transfer expert Nicolo Schira reported that Milan are ready to begin negotiations with Chukwueze’s representatives over a new contract.
The proposed renewal could keep the Nigerian international at the Serie A club until 2031.
Chukwueze’s current deal remains valid until June 2028, with formal negotiations over an extension yet to begin.
The potential new agreement would reward the Super Eagles star for his impressive performances at the beginning of the new campaign and could see him remain at Milan for several more seasons.
