Death of 33 miners in NSCDC custody horrible, cruel – Shehu Sani
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Shehu Sani has condemned the death of 33 miners in the custody of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) describing it as cruel and evil.
In a statement on Friday, Shehu Sani said all those connected with the case must be prosecuted in the interest of justice.
“The deaths of the 33 minors in the Custody of the Civil Defence in Niger State is a condemnable tragedy and unacceptable. There is no cruelty and horrible evil worst than this in the recent times in our Country.
“All those directly or indirectly involved in that despicable and inhuman act must be arrested and brought to justice.
“Specifically, the Head of the Niger State Civil Defence and officers and men involved in the arrest and detention of this minors must be arrested and prosecuted for this murderous crime,” he stated on his verified Facebook page.
Shehu Sani extended his condolences to the parents of the deceased and prayed for their souls to rest in peace.
