Kaduna: Over 5,000 land disputes resolved, 150 revoked titles restored in nearly four years

Date:

The Kaduna Geographic Information Service (KADGIS) says it has resolved more than 5,000 land disputes and restored over 150 land titles that were unjustly revoked in the last three and a half years.

Speaking at a town hall meeting in Kaduna, Bashir Garba Ibrahim, director-general of KADGIS, said Uba Sani, governor of the state, directed the agency to resolve all outstanding cases inherited from previous administrations.

He said KADGIS had also introduced reforms to ease land administration in the state under the present administration.

The reforms include the registration and accreditation of land agents, as well as the use of National Identification Numbers (NIN) and Bank Verification Numbers (BVN) for land title processing.

“New land titles and alternative plots have been given to former residents of Malali lowcost Kaduna, whose houses numbering 80 were demolished in 2021.’’
