Usmanu Danfodiyo Varsity loses Don

The Department of English and Literary Studies, Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, has announced the death of one of its lecturers, Prof. Abubakar Atiku Alkali.
The scholar died on Saturday at a hospital in Abuja while his funeral prayer was held at the Gesse Phase II Jumu’at Mosque Birnin Kebbi same day.
The university was represented at the funeral by Professors Shehu Sidi Ibrahim, Muhammad Ango Aliero, Muhammad Aminu Mode, Umar Muhammad Dogon-daji, and Doctors Muhammad Sajo, and Garba Ibrahim as well as some non-academic staff.
Prof.Muhammad Sajo Sanyinna said the death of Prof. Abubakar Atiku Alkali was a great loss to the University.
“Indeed, the University has lost a hardworking and committed staff. May Allah grant him His rahma.
“May we also live and die with Allah’s rahma, amen,” he said.
