Residents of Gwagwalada Area Council in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have called on the Council Chairman, Hon. Kasim Mohammed, to prioritize rural development and provide essential basic amenities for the populace.
Speaking to journalists in separate interviews on Saturday, community members urged the local government leadership to embark on grassroots projects, particularly borehole drilling, road construction, and school rehabilitation.
Highlighting specific community needs, local residents outlined key priorities.
Alhaji Yusuf Mai Wake of Anguwan Azara appealed for the tarring of the Anguwan Azara road, while the District Head of Kutunku, His Royal Highness Steve Bawa, urged the Chairman to rehabilitate the Kaida community road.
Similarly, Mallam Iliya Ningi of Anguwan Bassa requested the construction of drainage systems to prevent flooding, while Alhaji Aliyu Soldier emphasized the urgent need for hand-pump boreholes in Anguwan Azara to boost the supply of clean drinking water.
Also, the residents further urged the council to rehabilitate primary schools and provide adequate beds and mattresses at the Gwagwalada Town Clinic to improve patient care.
Equally, community leaders and residents expressed hope that the administration will act swiftly to address these critical infrastructure gaps.
