Flying Dove Institution of Information and Technology, in Kwali area council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has concluded plans to award scholarships to a total of thirty students in the area.
The rector of the institution, Hajiya Sakirat Oriyome, who disclosed this while addressing stakeholders during the official inauguration of the scholarship scheme in kwali, noted that the leadership of the institution was ready to give the scholarship to every best students form the 30 villages in the council.
According to her, every village head would select at least 10 students with five credits in West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) and 150 scores in Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) exams.
She explained that the essence of the inauguration was to introduce the scholarship scheme officially, to the people as well inform them on what the communities tend to benefit from the institution.
She noted that the establishment of the institution in Kwali would improve the socio-economic activities in the area, while calling for support from the members of the communities.
On this part, the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Education Research and Development Council (NERDC), who was represented by Mrs. Cecilia Ikebunam, said that his leadership would partner with the management of the institution to bring development in the area.
