Lady Angela Ohuabunwa—popularly known as the Queen of Light—marked her birthday with a charity outreach to uplift and advocate for widows.
The event provided 25 beneficiaries with direct cash empowerment, food items, drinks, and words of encouragement to help ease the hardship of losing a spouse.
As the Visioneer and Founder of the Let Your Light Shine Radio Programme on 104.5 Love FM Crowther Radio in Abuja, Lady Angela attributed her drive to compassion and divine grace.
She recalled that her inspiration began years ago after seeing how society often abandons women after their husbands pass away: “The moment she lost her husband, they drew the curtain against her… I was drawn to reach out to widows and give them a sense of belonging.”
Urging the public to offer emotional care alongside financial help, she reminded the women of their spiritual strength: “If they have God, they have everything. In Christ, there’s a complete package.”
Beneficiaries expressed profound gratitude for the outreach: Ode Gloria, a chef and mother of three, described the gesture as a vital lifeline, recalling how past support helped pay her children’s school fees.
A widow, Mrs. Elinor Otuobo shared that the empowerment put a smile on the widows’ faces and ensured she could feed her family.
Similarly, another beneficiary, Mrs. Leslie Obobula, celebrated her as a source of inspiration and a true prayer warrior, testifying to her heart of gold and constant support through difficult times.
To ensure long-term impact, Dr. (Mrs.) Lilian Anele, General Manager of 104.5 Love FM Crowther Radio, noted that their team assists with the annual event and will follow up with visits to the beneficiaries’ businesses to track their progress.
A friend of the celebrant, Dr. Ijoma Okoronkwo, praised Lady Angela’s inner beauty and heart, praying for God’s continuous blessing, sustained grace, long life, and expansion for her family.
