Two die in Ilorin after consumption of local herb

From Olanrewaju Lawal, Ilorin  Two persons have been reported dead in Ilorin Kwara state, after taking a local concoction at Adeta, Ilorin-West Local Government Area of the State.  The two brothers died following the consumption of locally made concussion on Monday.    It was gathered that one Malam Orire Azeez whose house was usually used as assembly ground by people in the area was not around when the incident happened.   Sources informed Journalists that people at the public assembly demanded for the liquid content of concoction (Agbo) from his little daughter identified as Rashhedat prepared for her father for consumption of which she made available. Peoples Daily correspondent gathered that the two, out of the three that consumed the locally made liquid at about 8:00 pm on the same day started experiencing abdomen pains a few minutes later. Among them was Malam Yinusa Akeju,a staff of Lubcon Nigeria Limited, was first to take the local medicine and died at about 12: 00 am while the second person, Mallam Gani Owo Iya, a vulcaniser by profession died 30 minutes later . The third person, Mallam Orire Saka had his door forced open by residence, was found dead and rushed to Ilorin General Hospital for medical treatment.  The deceased have been buried at Muslim Commentary in Ilorin on Tuesday, according to an Islamic injunction and survived with wives, children and aged parents.
