No Nigerian Should be Living In IDPs Camp – Obi

The Presidential Candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Peter Obi, has declared that no Nigerian should be left to live in Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp.
“That is why we have pledged to accord top priority to security, if elected in 2027. We will decisively deal with the issue of insecurity so that everybody can go back to his or her town or village,” Obi added.
Obi spoke in Sokoto when he visited the IDPs camp at Ramin-Kura, Sokoto, where thousands of displaced persons from various insecurity-prone Local Government Areas of the state are taking refuge.
Flanked by his running mate, former Kano State Governor, Dr. Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, the former Anambra State Governor vowed that if elected, security will be his number one priority.
Lamenting the squalid condition of the camp, Obi announced a donation of N2 million to augment the feeding of the IDPs and provide other essential needs.
In the same vein, the NDC Presidential Candidate promised to give the camp a befitting facelift.
While commiserating with the IDPs, Obi urged them to continue to pray fervently for the restoration of lasting security across Nigeria.
A cross section of the inmates of the camp commended Obi and Kwankwaso for the visit, appealing for more support.
They particularly advocated for plausible measures to restore lasting peace to enable them return to their various homes, towns and villages.
