The Sokoto State Commissioner for Local Governments and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ibrahim Dadi Adare, has declared that there is no credible alternative to the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the forthcoming general elections.
He spoke to newsmen at the weekend in Sokoto while commenting on the achievements of the Sokoto State Government and the prospects of the APC in the forthcoming polls.
Adare said the performance of Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto in the last three years has surpassed that of the previous administration, urging residents to massively support and vote all APC candidates during the election.
“When you compare with the previous administration of Gov. Aminu Tambuwal, it cannot be compared with the three years of achievements recorded by Dr. Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto.
“If you are looking at achievements and dividends of democracy, this government has done its best.
“We appeal to the people to massively join APC, to support this government, to vote for this government from President down to the level of councillor so that we will continue to benefit from these socio-economic developments,” he said.
According to Dadi Adare, the massive voting in of APC candidates in 2027 will ensure the consolidation of the developments so far recorded in Sokoto State and Nigeria in general.
Adare listed some of the achievements to include the beautification and desilting of Sokoto city and communities across the 23 local government areas, construction of roads, provision of transport to ease movement, and water supply with over 250 solar-powered boreholes drilled across communities.
The commissioner extolled the invaluable mentorship and guidance of the APC leader in the state, former Governor Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, who now represents Sokoto North in the Senate.
“All these successes being recorded are linked to the support, prayers and guidance of our father, my teacher, Distinguished Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko. We must continue to thank him and pray to Almighty Allah to reward him abundantly,” Adare said.
Applauding the Governor for ensuring efficacy of his 9-Point SMART Agenda, the commissioner assured the people of the state of more infrastructure and socio-economic development.
He encouraged voters to come out en masse and electball APC candidates during the forthcoming polls.
The Commissioner also urged Nigerians, particularly Sokoto residents, to remain peaceful, united and law-abiding, obtain their Permanent Voter Cards, and vote for credible leaders who will sustain development and good governance.
He further appealed to politicians to play politics with decorum, tolerance and respect for democratic rules, and shun inflammatory rhetoric, violence and intimidation.
