In a statement signed by his Media Aide, Aminu Abdullahi, Dan’iya described Alhaji Bafarawa as a veteran politician, administrator and community leader who has devoted several decades to public service, beginning from grassroots politics and local government before becoming Governor of Sokoto State from 1999 to 2007.
He noted that Bafarawa’s political journey has been marked by resilience, experience and sustained engagement with issues concerning the people of Sokoto and Nigeria.
Dan’iya particularly acknowledged the former Governor’s emphasis on education, healthcare, infrastructure and human development during his tenure.
Bafarawa has previously identified the expansion of education, training of medical doctors, construction of roads and extension of communities to the national electricity grid among the major achievements of his administration. His administration was also publicly associated with improvements in roads and schools.
The ADC candidate said beyond his years in office, Bafarawa remains an important repository of political experience and historical knowledge whose understanding of Sokoto’s political and socio-economic evolution remains valuable to younger generations.
Dan’iya said his generation has a responsibility to learn from the experiences of leaders who came before them while building institutions and policies that respond to the realities of today’s population.
Dan’iya prayed Almighty Allah to continue to grant Alhaji Bafarawa good health, wisdom, peace of mind, happiness and many more years in the service of humanity, surrounded by his family, friends and well-wishers.
