Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris has approved the payment of ₦63.65 million registration fees for 67 Kebbi indigenes undergoing legal training at the Nigerian Law School.
The amount was for the 2025/2026 academic session, a statement issued on Tuesday in Birnin Kebbi by the Commissioner for Justice and Attorney-General, Professor Junaidu Bello Marshal, SAN, said.
According to the statement, each of the 67 beneficiaries will receive ₦950,000 to cover their registration fees, bringing the total to ₦63,650,000.
Professor Marshal said the payment as part of Governor Idris administration’s commitment to supporting Kebbi indigenes pursuing legal education and ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder their professional development.
The Attorney-General expressed appreciation to the governor for his continued support for Kebbi law students and the justice ministry, saying it would significantly ease the financial burden on the beneficiaries and enable them to focus on their studies and professional training.
It would be recalled that the Kebbi State Government also paid tuition and registration fees for Kebbi indigenes in the Nigerian Law School in 2024 and 2025, further demonstrating the administration’s sustained commitment to promoting legal education and developing the next generation of legal practitioners from the state.
