Haaland hat-trick fires Man City To 3-2 win over Ipswich

Date:

Erling Haaland scored a hat-trick as Manchester City survived a late fightback from Ipswich Town to secure a 3-2 victory in the Premier League.

City took the lead in the 19th minute through Phil Foden, who converted Jérémy Doku’s assist.

Ipswich responded almost immediately, with D. Maeda drawing the visitors level two minutes later from A. Ouattara’s pass.

Haaland restored City’s advantage in the 34th minute, finishing off Mateo Kovačić’s pass to give the hosts a 2-1 lead at half-time.

The Norwegian striker struck again in the 69th minute, converting I. Ndiaye’s assist to extend City’s lead to 3-1.

Haaland appeared to have completed his hat-trick of goals in the 85th minute, but a Video Assistant Referee review ruled out the effort.

Ipswich refused to surrender, reducing the deficit in the 90th minute when Z. Flemming converted a penalty to make it 3-2.

The late goal set up a tense finish as Ipswich pushed for an equaliser.

City, however, held firm through 12 minutes of added time to claim all three points and maintain their winning run in the league.

The victory highlighted City’s attacking threat, with Haaland once again proving decisive, while Ipswich’s late rally ultimately failed to earn them a share of the points.
