The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr. Tanko Yamawo, has promised that Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) supporters backing President Bola Tinubu’s re-election will be handsomely rewarded.
Yamawo made the pledge in Kuje Area Council during a gathering of FCT APC and PDP political stalwarts, spearheaded by FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, under the rainbow coalition model.
Yamawo described the alliance as a historic shift, urging PDP members to “farm” (work) for President Tinubu’s success with the assurance of a future “bumper harvest” and reciprocal political support.
He likened the coalition’s collaborative approach to “Gayya”—a traditional communal farming practice where community members work collectively for one another with the understanding that the effort will be reciprocated.
Commending Minister Wike for fostering unprecedented unity, Yamawo noted that the collaboration has eliminated campaign violence, such as car-smashing and clashes between rival parties.
Highlighting the shift in political culture, Yamawo remarked that APC and PDP leaders now share rides, dine together, and exchange ideas for the development of the territory.
The FCT APC Chairman also praised the Federal Government’s ongoing infrastructure initiatives across the territory, emphasizing that sustained cooperation will drive further community development.
As political momentum builds toward the 2027 elections, Yamawo reaffirmed his commitment to the Rainbow Coalition, calling for continued unity and grassroots engagement across the FCT.
