A large crowd of supporters of the National Democratic Coalition (NDC) on Saturday took to the streets of Kano State in a solidarity march backing the proposed Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso presidential ticket ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The supporters marched through major streets of the state capital, chanting solidarity songs and displaying banners bearing the names of the former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso.
The demonstrators described the proposed Obi-Kwankwaso alliance as the best option for rescuing Nigeria from its current challenges and ushering in a new era of effective leadership.
They expressed confidence that the combination of both politicians would promote good governance, accountability and economic prosperity if elected in 2027.
The procession reportedly disrupted traffic in some parts of Kano, as the large turnout caused congestion while residents gathered along the routes to watch the march.
Security operatives were also deployed to the affected areas to maintain law and order and ensure that the procession proceeded peacefully.
As of the time of filing this report, the solidarity march was still ongoing.
