*says leadership must be measured by service to people
By Stanley Onyekwere
FCT Minister, Barr. Nyesom Wike has commended Dunamis International Gospel Centre for building a pedestrian bridge along in Abuja, as part of its corporate social responsibility, calling it a prime example of responsible leadership and religious institutions contributing to public infrastructure and community welfare.
Wike emphasized that leadership across government, religious organizations, private institutions, and families must be shown through tangible actions that improve lives rather than mere good intentions.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony on Friday, Wike noted that the intervention proved the church’s ability to translate religious teachings into practical societal service.
He praised Senior Pastor Dr. Paul Enenche and his wife for demonstrating that religious bodies can meaningfully address societal needs beyond preaching.
The minister highlighted that funding such projects requires sacrifices amidst competing financial obligations, reflecting a true commitment to the public good.
Wike recalled that an application initially submitted by the church in 2018 was renewed in February 2026 and quickly approved, showcasing the FCT Administration’s readiness to support public welfare initiatives.
He also indicated the government would consider a 50% contribution toward an associated project.
Wike urged citizens to assess governance through concrete achievements rather than political rhetoric, and cautioned against relying solely on social media narratives instead of verified facts and performance.
Earlier during the event, Dr. Pastor Paul Enenche stressed that Christian love must be shown through giving, selflessness, and humanitarian contributions.
He reminded leaders that people are measured by the problems they solve and the impact they make rather than accumulated wealth, and that everyone will ultimately account for how they used their positions and resources.
