Tinubu support group hails Tinubu, Uba Sani over 500 beneficiaries

Date:

The Tinubu-Uba Sani Consolidation Front (TUSCOF) has commended President Bola Tinubu and Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, over a partnership with the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), which has provided empowerment support to 500 residents and established skills and drone training facilities in the state.

The group described the interventions as investments in grassroots development, clean energy, vocational education and technological advancement.

TUSCOF made the commendation in a statement jointly signed by its National Chairman, Malam Mohammed Jalal Sada, and Director of Media and Publicity, Nasir Dambatta, in Abuja on Friday.

It particularly praised the distribution of solar home systems, clean cooking stoves and support packs to 500 beneficiaries under NASENI’s Sustainable Empowerment Programme.

The group noted that the programme covered all 23 local government areas of Kaduna State, with women accounting for 450, representing 90 per cent of the beneficiaries.

According to TUSCOF, the initiative would improve household access to alternative energy, reduce dependence on conventional cooking fuels and minimise exposure to smoke, particularly among women.

Jalal said the intervention demonstrated how collaboration between federal and state governments could translate science and technology policies into practical benefits for ordinary citizens.

He said, “We commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for providing the policy direction and support for initiatives that bring the benefits of science and engineering closer to ordinary Nigerians.

“We equally appreciate Governor Uba Sani for his commitment to partnerships that translate development priorities into practical interventions for the people of Kaduna State.

“The decision to reach 500 residents across all 23 local government areas, with women accounting for 90 per cent of the beneficiaries, gives this intervention an important social and economic dimension.”

The group also welcomed the establishment of the NASENI Skills Development Centre at Rigachikun, in Igabi Local Government Area, describing it as an opportunity to strengthen vocational and technical education.

Jalal said the facility could equip young people with practical and industry-relevant skills, improve their employment prospects and encourage entrepreneurship in technology-driven sectors.

He also highlighted the establishment of the NASCAV Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Training Centre, saying it would open opportunities for young people to acquire specialised drone technology skills.

According to him, drone technology has growing applications in agriculture, infrastructure monitoring, mapping and environmental management.

“The establishment of a drone training facility in Kaduna is particularly significant because it creates an avenue for developing local expertise in a field with growing applications across several sectors.

“We must continue to invest in the knowledge, skills and technical capacity required to compete in a rapidly changing world,” he added.

TUSCOF further welcomed the reported participation of women in the drone training initiative, insisting that they should have equal opportunities to acquire specialised skills in science, engineering and technology.

It said the combination of clean energy support, vocational training and advanced technology development gave the NASENI-Kaduna partnership significance beyond the immediate distribution of equipment.

However, the group urged the relevant authorities to ensure effective monitoring, transparent selection of beneficiaries and proper maintenance of the distributed equipment.

It also called for sustained investment in technical training and stronger collaboration among federal agencies, state governments, private-sector operators and development institutions to translate such interventions into measurable improvements in livelihoods and job creation.

Jalal reaffirmed the group’s commitment to promoting initiatives focused on inclusive development, technological innovation and improved living standards.

The development comes weeks after political leaders and stakeholders from across the country converged on Kaduna for the inaugural meeting of TUSCOF, at the invitation of its convener and founder, Malam Sani Liman Kila, Chief of Staff to Governor Uba Sani.
