54th independence: Bala enjoins residents to pray for peace

As the country commemorates her 54th independence, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Senator Bala Mohammed enjoined the residents to use the occasion to supplicate for the nation to overcome its current security challenges even as the country approaches the general elections.

He reiterated that the current security challenges in some parts of the country would soon be a thing of the past and urged citizens to partner with the security agencies to win the current war against insurgency.

Mohammded, who congratulated President Goodluck Jonathan and all Nigerians on anniversary of the country, also implored the citizens to use the occasion to unite for the progress and prosperity of the country, adding that the unity of Nigeria should remain upper most.

In a congratulatory message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Muhammad Sule, the minister urged the residents of the Territory to continue to support the Federal Government in its desire to make the  general elections free and fair throughout the country.

“He thanked God for sparing our lives to witness this year’s anniversary and enjoined all Nigerians irrespective of our religious belief and political inclinations to continue to live in peace and harmony with one another; advising that we should remain our brothers’ keeper,” the statement said.
