Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the North-East has vowed to capture all the All Progressives Congress states of Borno and Yobe ahead of the 2015 presidential election just as It urged aggrieved governors who defected to the APC to dump the party and return home.
The North-East PDP publicity Secretary, Alamin Sani Muhammed stated this yesterday in a press conference in Bauchi, reiterating the commitment of the party to support the candidature of President Goodluck Jonathan in 2015 because of the giant strides recorded by his administration.
According to Alamin, “ Among the achievements recorded by the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan in the North-East region that is worthy of commendation is the establishment of Almajiri boarding schools in the region to enhance Qu’ranic learning.”
“In the fight against insurgency, the President has recorded a lot of success because the federal government through the military has intensified efforts to flush out insurgents from troubled areas in the region.
“Apart from that, Nigerians are witnesses to the proactive measures put in place by the Jonathan administration to curtail the deadly Ebola disease which was a global concern. Today, Nigeria is Ebola free” he said.
The party urged the aggrieved governors who defected to the APC to dump the party and join the PDP as part of efforts to address the insecurity challenges bedeviling the country.
He commended the efforts of the National Working Committee and the Board of Trustees of the party for endorsing the candidature of the President, assuring that the north-east region was solidly behind the continuity of the President in office beyond 2015.
