Fire inferno claims 2 in Bauchi

Two people were confirmed killed following a fire disaster in Misau Local Government Area (LGA) of Bauchi state. The residents of the area said the fire disaster occurred in the early hours of Tuesday in Misau area office of the Bauchi state water board, when a welder working on oil tank at the premises explodes It was gathered that the development seriously caused pandemonium in the area as residents flee for their dear life in an attempt to escape the fire disaster. It was also learnt that smokes of the fire disaster was seen in far distance while residents flee thinking it was the insurgence that struck the area as it took the intervention of good Samaritans to calm the fire. An eye witness who pleaded anonymity said the welder died instantly when the oil tanker burst and his corpse nearly burnt to ashes while several people that sustained   injuries   were taken to Misau General Hospital for emergency treatment. The victims were later referred to Federal Medical Centre, Azare and later to Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Teaching Hospital, Bauchi following the gravity of the injuries they sustained. A resident of Misau, Malam Yerima Abdu, said whenever there is a fire outbreak in the area, it often reaches alarming stage because fire fighting vehicles have to come all the way from Azare, to stop the fire. He pleaded with the state government to come to their aid by establishing a fire station in Misau to minimize the gravity of such incidence whenever it occurs. Malam Yerima called on the people of the area to always be cautious while operating their electrical appliances in order to avert the re-occurrence of the incidence. Meanwhile, the remains of the deceased were laid to rest in Misau central grave yard according to Islamic injunctions.
