Abducted TASUED Deputy VC regains freedom

The abducted Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED), Ijagun in Odogbolu local government area of Ogun state, Prof. Olusoga Olusanya has regained his freedom.
The release of the University Don which was confirmed by the Ogun State Police Command of the Nigeria Police indicated that Prof. Olusanya was released late Tuesday night and that he has since been re-united with his family.
Olusanya was abducted by gunmen when he was returning from the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta on Monday evening, where he had gone on official assignment.
He had served as external invigilator at the ongoing postgraduate examination at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, and was on his way back to his campus when he was seized by his abductors along the Odogbolu-Ijebu- Ode-Ore- Benin expressway.
Olusanya was initially abducted alongside his driver who was later dropped by the roadside at Odogbolu.
However, the spokesperson for the Ogun Police Command, Muyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the release of the university don.
He said, “Re-kidnapping at Odogbolu,please be informed that Prof Olusanya the Deputy Vice Chancellor Tasued has been released by his captors and he has been re united with his family.”
Mr. Adejobi did not provide details of how Mr. Olusanya was freed or rescued.
