From James Ogunnaike, Abeokuta
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has charged members of the Nigerian Armed Forces to strive to know more about their environment in the quest to have additional knowledge about Military Strategy and Planning.
Obasanjo gave the charge when he played host to participants of the National Defence College, Course 23, Group 3, who were on a five-day Geo- strategic tour of Ogun state at his Hill Top residence in Abeokuta.
Chief Obasanjo urged the participants to put in their best in everything they do as they move ahead in their quest to gain more knowledge about their chosen profession adding that they should continue to learn more about the issues of the country saying “they cannot learn about strategy without knowing the environment of their country”.
The team also visited the Ogun State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Bimbo Ashiru who said about 6000 people, out of which 60 percent would be women, are expected to benefit from the Central Bank of Nigeria two billion naira loan to be disbursed to Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Ogun State through the Ogun State Agricultural and Multipurpose Credit Agency (OSAMCA), assuring that due diligence would be followed in disbursing the loan, which he said, would be subsidized by the state at three percent interest rate.
