Zamfara supports NURTW’s president second term bid

Governor Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar of Zamfara State yesterday announced his support over the endorsement declared by the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) north-western zone, for the incumbent union’s President, Najeem Usman Yasin to re-contest for second term come 2015.

The governor, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Tijjani Yahaya Kaura, passed the message during commissioning ceremony of the union’s north-western zonal office in Gusau, the state capital, which would regulate the operations of seven states comprising, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Jigawa, Sokoto and Zamfara.

Tijjani Kaura said the state government would continue to entertain the most needed demands presented by the NURTW in running its legitimate affairs which is in the best interest of the teeming populace the state, describing the of services rendered by the union as integral efforts towards the development of economic activities in the state.

In his remarks, the President NURTW, Alhaji Najeem Yasin said his administration has already planned the constructions of similar offices across the six geopolitical zones of the country, adding that it would also embark upon trainings and retraining of its members towards achieving desired goals targeted by the federal government in terms of addressing security challenges.

The union president urged the entire members of the NURTW to always remain law abiding and to keep adequate watch on the teeming populace using their services across the nation as even disguised criminals could be their clients while in attempt to achieve nasty aims, therefore, should report any questionable movement within or outside operational motor stations.
