Sani Bello declares for APC Guber race

The Former Commissioner for Commerce and Investment in Niger State, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello has officially declared his intention to contest the governorship seat of the state under the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Declaring in Kontagora town yesterday where the governorship seat has been zoned to, promised to address infrastructural and institutional decay due to lack of self-less leadership and inefficiencies in the state.

Bello told the large party stalwarts and supporters that he would ensure massive job creation for the teeming unemployed youth, uphold the dignity of women and girl child as well as other vulnerable persons in the state.

The aspirant said that an APC government under his leadership would ensure new sources of economic growth and foster peaceful and harmonious co-existence among the diverse population in the state.

He challenged the Niger State government for lacking behind in the areas of youth employment, infrastructural provision, adequate health services and affordable housing.

Bello said “the current situation of the state’s resources and its management have denied it the opportunity of boasting of good and motorable road networks and industries.”

According to the APC aspirant “the time has come for us to make a choice; to stand for and choose hope over fear, unity and pride of our purpose over conflict and crisis and humanity over the ills of injustice and mis-governance.

“It is time for Niger State to restore its lost glory and reclaim its prosperity, selflessness and uncommon services. It is my fervent intention to do something about this ugly scenario as I offer myself for service”.

Bello resigned voluntarily from the cabinet of the current Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led administration in 2010 before he joined the opposition party.
