Caf_logo__afconThe Confederation of African Football (CAF) after a meeting held on Monday in Algiers ruled that the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) will go on as scheduled.

Fixed to commence on January 17 through February 8 2015, original hosts Morocco have asked for postponement largely due to the Ebola scourge but the request has fallen through with continent’s soccer ruling body sticking to their guns.

CAF have now given a November 8 deadline to Morocco to make up their minds if still interested in hosting Africa’s biggest football tournament even as they have also asked interested countries to let their intentions known.

A final decision as regards the AFCON 2015 is to be taken at the CAF Executive Committee meeting fixed for November 11 in Cairo, Egypt.
