The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship aspirant in Katsina state, Ahmed Aminu Yar’adua, has debunked claims that the Buhari political aspiration for presidency could hamper his chances in the Katsina state governorship election next year.

The aspirant stated this yesterday shortly after submitting his nomination form for the contest of katsina state governorship in the PDP National Headquarters.

Alhaji Yar’adua said he has all it takes to stop General Muhammadu Buhari from making any impact in his aspiration for presidency.

According to him, “This is not the first time General Muhammadu Buhari is contesting; all in opposition to PDP, so nothing has changed. He contested two times, this is the third time, still our party, the PDP won. In 1999, our party won, we won the second part of the late President, we won in 2007, we won in 2011 and I believe we will win in 2015”.

Another aspirant from Cross River state, chief Goddy Jeddy-Agba said, “Despite Governor Imoke’s remarkable achievements in the past seven years, Cross River state still faces challenges of unemployment, insecurity and declining revenue, which could worsen in no distant future due to our country’s over dependence on oil as the main source of revenue.”

“Cross River state needs a governor with a pan Cross River agenda, not a sectional or ethnic agenda, a governor who sees Cross River state as his constituency, one who is committed to carrying everyone along irrespective of tribe or language”.

“Cross River does not need a governor who is afraid to compete or one who advocates for exclusion of others in this race to gain advantage”, he argued.
