NEMA distributes relief to 270 IDPs at Molkohi camp

In continuation of the provision of support to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) affected by security challenges, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has distributed relief items to at least 270 persons at the camp in Molkohi, Yola South local government Area of Adamawa State.

The Molkohi camp provides temporary shelter for the IDPs that are mostly from Gwoza, Madagali and Michika, who were displaced by insurgency attacks on their communities.

The North East Zonal Coordinator of NEMA, Alhaji Mohammed Kanar who represented the Director- General of NEMA, Muhammad Sani Sidi, led other officers of the Agency and the stakeholders on the relief distribution exercises.

Kanar, who conveyed the sympathy of the Federal Government to the victims, assured them of continued support of the government towards their plights.

He said the relief assistance was approved to provide them with succour while arrangement is already in place by the Federal Government for full rehabilitation of the communities affected by the insurgency.

The North East Zonal Coordinator also said that some staff of the NEMA had been deployed to Adamawa state to monitor situations in all camps in the state to provide necessary support to the people.

The items distributed included bags of foodstuff, clothing, household items and sanitary materials among others
