Nafada attack: Police vow to bring perpetrators to book

Following Nafada attack, Gombe state police command has assured that the command would do everything possible to ensure that lives and properties of citizens are protected.

Speaking to newsmen yesterday in Gombe, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) DSP Fwaje Atajiri said effort have been put in place to ensure that the police investigate the course of Nafada attack even as he said resident should stop speculations.

He said Nafada local government area which was attacked by unknown gunmen last Tuesday, where a Divisional police station, PDP secretariat and Ashaka cement was manhunt by the assailants, the

police command in Gombe state had swung into action to investigate in order to fish out those connected to the attack, so as to free residents from further attacks in the area.

According to him, the police had vowed not to fold its arm and watch perpetrators carrying their deadly act in order to disrupt the peace of residents even as he appealed to residents in the area to always assists the police with useful information by reporting any suspicious movement their domain.

The police spokesman also urged residents to always shun speculations that does not have meaning for the development of the state and called on them to go about their normal businesses as the police are fully ready to ensure that lives and property of Nigerians are protected.

He explained that during the Nafada attacked, six people were killed while a policeman sustain injury,adding that the policeman is receiving treatment and would soon be discharge.
