A Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), Shade of Hope Foundation has empowered 700 displaced persons in Nasarawa.
The Shade of Hope foundation disclosed this at the lunch of their latest initiative titled Operation salvage programme, a special invention programme designed to take care of internally displaced persons in country.
Speaking at the lunch, the founder/president of Shade of Hope foundation Mrs. Heleina Akputu said “operation salvage is another effort to restore hope to victims of armed conflicts and other manmade disasters in the country”.
“We in shade of hope believe putting smiles and bringing succor to the less privileged in our society. No Nation can make meaning progress in an atmosphere where peace is lacking. So we are appealing to Nigerians to be agents of peace”.
Akputu noted that the initiative will provide an invaluable opportunity for all Nigerians to be actively, involved in providing humanitarian assistance to the needy. She added.
Similary, the guest speaker ,Pro. Jerry Gana, who emphasized that the imitative of Shade of Hope is according to the giant strides of Mr. president transformation agenda.
Gana said.” targeting displaced persons was an excellent idea, it will go a long way to ease what those citizens are passing through.
Similarly, the Director Media and strategy of Shade of Hope Foundation, Dr. Chris Oge Kalu,the campaign is in two categories which will be direct invention and teaching them how to manage their situation.
Adding that, the foundation has given Nasarawa state displaced persons relief materials foodstuff, mattress ,clothing, toiletries, indomine, etc.
Mr. Francis Haruna, who spoke unbehave of the displaced persons appreciated the Shade of Hope foundation for coming to their aid.
