The Senate Minority Leader, George Akume, has averred that Benue electorates would vote out Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led administration in the state in 2015 for poor performance.
Akume who stated this in Makurdi, Benue state capital, while addressing his supporters at the Secretariat of All Progressive Congress (APC), after purchasing expression of interest and nomination forms to contest the 2015 Benue North West senatorial.
He regretted the failure of the PDP administration to pay salaries of civil servants for over 3 months, saying “They have failed to pay workers salaries and they will be disgrace out of office. I have learnt my lessons, this time around, we will not allow them to steal our mandate”.
He urged the electorates to ensure that they collect and protect their permanent voter cards, noting that it is their weapon to effect change in the country and hold their leaders accountable.
Akume also chided the PDP for conducting shabby ward congress in the state, adding that the party failed to carry the people along.
He praised the Benue people for keeping faith with the party despite the hardship they have been subjected to by the PDP administration and pledged that the APC family in the state would conduct a free and fair primaries.
