The Transformation Agenda Solidarity Forum (TASOF) has said that it will support Bala Zakari Adamu in his bid to contest the Nasarawa South senatorial District elections in 2015, under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) platform.
National Chairman of the Forum, Mohammed Ari Gwaska, who addressed a press conference in Abuja, also called on President Goodluck Jonathan to be wary of pressure groups canvassing for the “so called automatic ticket”.
Gwaska, who was a former Chairman of the Federal Character Commission, said Bala Zakari Adamu’s trackrecord in the public service and his tireless effort in assisting PDP in Nasarawa State stand him in good stead, such that even APC members have vowed to vote for him in 2015.
He said automatic tickets rest at the grassroots; therefore contestants should go back to their constituencies and persuade people through their achievements, even as he called on the opposition to close ranks with President Jonathan and support him for another four year term.
While reiterating that PDP has not granted any automatic ticket to any candidate, Gwaska said the party has reached the age of maturity such that it should not feel threatened by people who have lost popularity in their constituencies.
He said the problem of insurgency is a global phenomenon and therefore should not be politicised rather, Nigerians should come together, forget politics and fight the common enemy.
TASOF, he added, is therefore congratulating President Jonathan for his successful declaration bid to contest again in 2015 and said it is a wonderful achievement for all that worked tirelessly to see that the President heed to the call to contest.
