2015: Borno PDP backs Jonathan

Leaders of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) in Borno State yesterday restated their support for the re-election of President GoodLuck Jonathan and the counter- insurgency operations ongoing across the state.

Rising from a stakeholders’ meeting in Maiduguri, Minister of State for Power, who is also the leader of the party in the state Mohammed Wakil said the elders and leaders again re – adopted their previous endorsement of president Jonathan.

Wakil said the stakeholders also promised massive mobilisation for the president in 2015.

“We met again after our successful outing on Monday. We discussed many issues but specifically we restated our support for Mr President both on his re-election and the ongoing anti- terrorist operations.

We rededicate ourselves to wresting power from the ruling APC in Borno and commend the security agencies for their enormous sacrifices in the anti -terror war”, he said.

“We are convinced that Mr. President is doing all humanly possible to bring the insurgency to an end. Moreover, we commend the president over his pledge to recapture all occupied territories and rebuild the North East after the war”, the party leader further added.

According to him, the stakeholders are convinced that only the continuity of a PDP led Federal Government can accelerate the defeat of the insurgency in Borno and across the North -East.

“The state cannot afford new experiment capable of worsening the ongoing conflicts”, the minister declared.

The meeting also deliberated on strategies to ensure hitch free emergence of its candidates for the 2015 general elections.
