One of the top contenders of Kaduna State governorship race under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Isa Mohammed Ashiru yesterday said the state will be doomed without change of leadership.

Speaking to newsmen in Kaduna ahead of APC’s governorship primaries, Ashiru said “I am in this race and other aspirants to do one thing; it is rescuing our state from inept and compromised leadership and nothing more.

“Our state will be doomed if we don’t change style of governance and I can tell you that present and future generations will not forgive us.

And our people have woken up in a speed to effect change.”

“It is internal family affair of brothers who have offered themselves to salvage our state and therefore not a do or die affair. It is a competition and not a war but match to greatness and rejuvenation to a new dawn.

“We are brothers and members of one party with clear focus of chasing bad leadership and replace it with people oriented government. I am a disciplined party man, well committed to the principles of APC with peoples oriented background.

“We are in this race for rescue mission and for standing up so as to be on the good side of our history and for posterity sake because, silence is a crime in a retrogressive state.”

The governorship aspirant who is the Vice Chairman of House of Representatives Committee on Appropriation also said that present and future generations will not forgive people of the state, if they don’t salvage it from what he said is the ‘worst and inept leadership’ ever in the history of Kaduna State.

Ashiru further said that he and other aspirants under APC are in the race only to rescue the state and reposition its befitting status as political headquarters of defunct Northern Nigeria and to reconnect all peoples of the state back to its glorious years of the past.

Ashiru said his ambition is not a do or die affair but purely competition to rebuild a new state where there will be cogent integration, development and peaceful coexistence that eluded the state.
