Either of former Head of State, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (rtd), ex-Vice President Atiku Abubakar, or Governor Musa kwakwanso, will be better alternative to President Goodluck Jonathan, whose administration has plunged Nigeria into economy stagnation, needless violence and insecurity, according to the former Governor of Yobe state, Senator Bukar Abba Ibrahim.

The Senator said no magic that the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will deploy to stop the All Progressives Congress (APC) from clinching the 2015 Presidential elections will be of any effect because the people are fed up with PDP’s 16 years of administrative drift.

The Senator was convinced that the stagnation in all sections of the national economy and the unbearable insecurity situation in the country and the growing disdain for the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan should translate to electoral capital for the APC, which he said, the people see as credible alternative to the PDP and the bastion of hope for Nigerians.

“From the look of things, it is very likely that Jonathan will lose come 2015 Presidential elections. The people are tired of the PDP’s misrule, they yearn for a change and the APC represents the change they need,” he said stressing that the APC intends to field a credible candidate that will secure the prestige office at the centre and thus rescue Nigeria.

Dismissing the assertion that the trio of Buhari, Atiku and Kwankwaso in the race to clinch the APC’s presidential ticket constitutes a hedge on the path of the party, Sen. Ibrahim said that the aspirants have resolved to support whoever emerges the flag bearer of the APC.

“All aspirants have agreed to support whoever eventually emerges the candidate of the party in the presidential election. For us in the APC, the consensus is that whoever emerges is not important. The most important thing to us for the APC to capture power at the centre,” he said stressing that all aspirants are in agreement with the decision.

Further, he said all the APC aspirants are better alternative to Jonathan whose administration he said has clearly missed the mark and has thrown the country into more problem than been envisaged.

“Look either of Buhari, Atiku and Kwankwaso, will make better president than what we are presently having and the APC is determined to restore hope to the people,” he said regretting that Nigeria whether in the military era had never ever been governed by a truly progressive government.

“Who becomes the president among the APC’s presidential aspirants is not really important but that the APC should produce the next really progressive government at the centre and we believe all the aspirants have the credentials-both their good and bad qualities.

“The interest is a bigger and better Nigeria. Our goal is to develop the health sector, develop agriculture, we want to export goods and do less of import. We have the programmes and quality personnel to drive the processes,” he said.
