Plateau PDP crisis: Jang may cause bloody violence- PDP elders

Date:

From Ado Abubakar Musa, Jos

As the crisis in the Plateau State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) worsens, PDP elders under the umbrella of Justice and Equity Forum have reiterated that if PDP at the national level was not careful, Governor Jonah David Jang would cause bloody violence in the state that could be worse than the 2007 crisis in the Plateau North local government area of the state, alleging that Jang was the cause of the 2007 crisis in the state.

The Forum which revealed this yesterday at a press conference held in Jos, organised to emphasize on zoning formula which according to the group Jang “is deliberately trying to avoid for his own selfish reason.”

It further alleged that the attempt by Jang to select his nephew from the same Du village was as simple as an extension of their term agenda being planned by the governor.

According to the leadership of the forum, which comprises the representatives of all Plateau tribes from the 17 LGAs of the state at the meeting, have endorsed that the next PDP candidate in the state must come from the Southern geo-political zone as enshrined in the party’s constitution.

The group concluded that if by any chance the national secretariat of the party allowed Jang to chose his nephew as PDP gubernatorial candidate, the party in the state would definitely fail come 2015.
