Kwara:Gov Ahmed flags-off N7.9b Kaima road project

The Kwara state governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed has flagged-off the reconstruction of federal government owned 64km Kaiama-Kishi road, worth N7.9billion.
Governor Ahmed while speaking at the flag-off ceremony on Tuesday at Kaiama, Kwara North senatorial district, said the reconstruction of the road which link the state with Oyo state was aimed at enhancing socio- economic development of the people of the area.
The governor, who said his administration would soon flag-off construction of Ilesha-Baruba-Gwanara road in Baruten local government area of the state, added that Maigida – Arobadi road in Moro local government area, Mission Road, Lafiagi, in Edu local government area and the bye-pass from Asa Dam road to Egbejila and Airport in Ilorin West local government area would also be done next year.
The governor lamented that the federal government was yet to refund over N4billion expended on Ilesha-Baruba- Chikanda road constructed five years ago.
He said:” the rehabilitation of this road will also eliminate the hardship experienced by motorists and commuters on this route”.
