Former Vice President and All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Aspirants, Atiku Abubakar has pledged to reposition the economy of the country if elected the next president in the 2015 general elections.
Abubakar, who was in Jalingo on a familiarization visit with Taraba APC delegates for the next party convention coming up in Lagos, said the country’s economy has badly managed under President Goodluck Jonathan.
“For the fact that there is drastic fall in the prices of crude oil, petroleum is not reason enough why the country should go into economic crisis, the reason why the country is passing through economic crisis is because the economy has been badly managed in the last six years”. He added that if the economy has been properly managed, there wouldn’t be any crisis even if the price of oil comes down.
Atiku Abubakar further disclosed that the logical thing to do is to have a sound economic management which according to him, APC government is about to offer.
Former Vice President reiterated the need for the people of the state to have a change of government, pointing out that the time has come for them to abandon the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and vote for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“Votes for PDP should be stopped, all should vote for the APC, PDP will never produce any tangible thing in Nigeria, take for instance, insurgency in the North East, which PDP led government cannot surmount”.
While calling on Delegates to vote for Senator Aisha Jummai Alhassan as their Governorship candidate, he added that a vote for Aisha is a vote for APC taking over Taraba State Government House in 2015.
