The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State, Malam Nasir El-Rufa’i has said the prolonged insurgency in the North championed by the faceless Boko Haram is a plot by the

Jonathan’s administration to create a war situation in the region which will enable him invoke Section 216 of the Constitution which cancels elections in war zones. El-Rufa’i stated this during a visit to the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Kaduna Council Yesterday.

According to him, he has information and documents to prove that what is happening in the North-East and other parts of the north is a long term plan to disturb the 2015 elections.

“We’re aware of their plans, because the major reason why the insurgency still prevails is to enable the Jonathan government to declare a state of war in some states and invoke that section of the constitution that election cannot be held and in alternative postpone the election by six months and that is why innocent blood is being shed on daily basis. We know their plans and we’re ready for them and ensure that the 2015 elections go on.

“The Peoples Democratic Party-led government knows that in free and fair elections, it cannot return to power and that is why they scheme the Boko Haram insurgents.  PDP is losing states on a daily basis across the nation and this is because the party has turned into haven of criminals who are only interested in their selves and families at the detriment of the populace,” he said.

El-Rufa’I, said if elected governor of Kaduna State, his administration will bring a change to the state especially in the area of infrastructural development.  He however, lamented that it may not be an easy task because of the present situation in the state where every child is now born with a debt of N15 million on his head.

“With the little resources we’ll get, we promise to use it to the benefits of our people and not just of the few people who see themselves as lords and untouchables in the state.  Everybody in Kaduna State deserves equal treatment and attention and that is what I promise the good people of the state.

“This man before you promises that contrary to general belief that I’m coming to destroy your houses but I want the people of Kaduna State to know that I’m here to make the state better than we met it just like we left Abuja better than we met it.

“Let me sound this note of warning, we’re not ready tolerate impunity. So, do the right thing and Kaduna State will be better for all of us. We’re all tired of the PDP government in the state and we have to tell each other the truth that enough of the unnecessary killings in

Southern Kaduna or Birnin Gwari.  We’ll stop this nonsense even though the cattle rustlers who are behind these criminal acts will not like it, we have to bring sanity to the state,” El-Rufa’i added.
