Ribadu wins Adamawa PDP guber primaries

Former Economics and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Alhaji Nuhu Ribadu  has had a landslide victory over seven  other aspirants with 688 Votes to clinch the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship ticket for Adamawa State.

The incumbent state Governor, Mr. Bala James Ngilari who had 26 votes came fourth after Marcus Gundiri who polled 33 votes while Alhaji Ahmed Modibbo polled 30 votes respectively.

Aliyu Kama polled 3 votes; Auwal Tukur polled 24 votes while only 2 votes were declared invalid from the delegates that cast their votes at the old parade ground yesterday at Abuja.

The election however was boycotted by all the other aspirants as the venue erupted in applause by majority of the delegates that were waiting patiently for the announcement of the result.

Making the declaration, the chairman Adamawa governorship election committee, Senator Rufa’i Hanga declared Alhaji Nuhu Ribadu as winner of the primary election, praying that God should give him the courage to do just to all manner of people in the state.

While making his acceptance speech, Ribadu said his happiness knows no bound as “I take your challenge to lead our great party, the Peoples Democratic Party to the gubernatorial election coming in February with utmost sense of responsibility and honour. I pledge not to falter as we commence this journey for a new Adamawa State”.
