FCT Senate: How Aduda floored Ireti, others at PDP primaries

Date:

It was a landslide victory for Senator Phillip Aduda, as he clinched the Peoples Democratic Party ticket for the lone Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Senatorial seat in the National assembly, after securing over 98 % of total votes cast by delegates in the keenly contested primary election of the party in the Territory.

At the FCT PDP Senatorial primaries, which were held at Old Parade ground, in Area 10, Garki District, Aduda, who is currently occupying the single FCT slot in the Nigeria Senate, polled 255 out of the 263 total votes cast to defeat Ireti Kingibe, who got only 2 votes, while Pastor Toyin scored zero, respectively.

However, the third contender, Commander Kudanbo Yakubu, dropped his ambition by withdrawing from the race at the venue of election, which recorded invalid 6 votes.

Addressing newsmen shortly after the primaries,  Aduda thanked the party delegates for given him such a mandate as the part flag bearer in the forthcoming 2015 general election, so as to continue serving the people, calling on those that lost to join hands with him in developing a better FCT.

Specifically, the Senator expressed gratitude to the FCT minister, Senator Bala Mohammed, for his support, while promising to deliver more dividends of democracy when elected in the general elections come 2015.
